Well, in the weeks that have passed, we have had the pool liner replaced. It was a little bit of work draining the pool and making sure none of our four dogs fell into the concrete bottom. At the median age of 12-14 years old, they are all partly deaf, blind and dumb. Chloe likes to go up to the waters edge and stare down. (At times she'll jump back as if someone or something has spooked her. I've pulled them into the water with me when it was filled to try and satisfy their curiosity, but they still look puzzled when around it.)
Being Arkansas is in a drought, we tried using some of the pool water to water our yard. Glenn is creative and divised a way for the pool to pump the water through our sprinkler. Even with the chemicals in the water, any kind of liquid was better than none.
It's been too hot to do much of anything, but we did buy two bikes to try and get some exercise. To date, we've only had one run, but as the temps cool, I know I will be using mine a lot.
I have also been walking laps around the pool.....yep.....you heard me correctly. I figured out it takes 70 laps to make a mile around our swimming pool, so everytime I take the dogs out, I start walking and get in a good 7-10 laps each time. I'd like to say I'm seeing the benefits, but my doctor's scale still has me weighing the same. urghh! That's alright....the movement makes me feel better physically and mentally. What my neighbors must think is another story!
So...this is life here! I have lots more to add another day.
